Risk Management is the collection of actions taken by Georgia Soccer and its affiliates to minimize risk associated with the playing and administration of the game of soccer.
Risk Management addresses a number of issues which include, but are not limited to, background checks & SafeSport training for those involved with youth players, abuse reporting, field and game safety and the protection of the state association and of each member organization and their assets.
Please use these resources to assist in mitigating risk for your organization. Georgia Soccer uses JDP as its trusted background screening provider. All Adult Participants must have an approved background check pursuant to Georgia Soccer Risk Management Policy and completed SafeSport training.
REQUIRED TRAINING
Required SafeSport Certification Training In 2017 Congress passed the ‘‘Protecting Young Victims from Sexual Abuse and Safe Sport Authorization Act of 2017’ commonly called the SafeSport Act. Georgia Soccer requires all adult participants in contact with minors to complete SafeSport Training. Coaches, Volunteers, Team Managers and Athletic Trainers are required, read the full list here. Required Concussion Training HEADS UP to Youth Sports is a free, online course available to coaches, parents, sports officials, athletic trainers, and others helping to keep athletes safe from concussion .Georgia Soccer requires all adult participants in contact with minors to complete Concussion Training. It can be a very stressful situation to be in when you are concerned about your own safety or the safety of someone else. Whether you are participating in sports, at home, online, in school, or anywhere for that matter, we all must be prepared to come forward to report any suspected abuse or misconduct.
